We did Argentina the touristy way.

We closed our eyes and opened them to the sight of Perito Moreno glacier. We walked on it. We hid in it. We walked the streets of El Calafate, drank wine and ate the steaks.

We arrived by bus at El Chalten. Trekked to Cerro Torre. Sat by the lake and hoped for the clouds to lift. We snapped pictures we knew we would not look at. We also knew we just wanted to capture the stillness of the moment.

Oskar rock-climbed for the first time in years or was rather hauled up the wall on his own account. Marta walked some more. We did ‘the’ walk to Fitzroy amongst thousands of caterpillars in perfect weather. We agreed. It is ‘the’ walk.

We flew to Buenos Aires. Went to a local wine bar every night. Browsed through the bookstores. Wandered the cemeteries. Bought children's books for Cata and Santi in San Telmo. Had empanadas in the local market.

We explored Palermo. Ate some more. Drank some more.

We got soaked in Puerto Varas. Crossed the Andes in the footsteps of Che Guevara. Saw the clouds part. Took pictures of the rainbow.

We met Oskar’s dad and trekked to Refugio Lopes. Took more picture of Bariloche. We realised we will miss trekking. We drove up the Ruta de los siete lagos. We realised we will miss traveling.

We walked around San Marin de los Andes. We realised we will miss not having to do anything.
